Faith
Faith is a little girl 5 years old. She lives in Mtwapa, Kenya, at
Jambo Jipya School, and attends the 2nd level of Kindergarten
in that school. This is theSchool that Keela Marie Dates
(granddaughter of Jim and Keela Rogers) supports,
and for which she has been raising funds for some time.
Faith is extremely cute and loveable, fun and energetic, loves to smile and laugh,
and is incredibly bright. She is the younger of two siblings who live at Jambo Jipya
School. We don't know whether she has other brothers or sisters, as she and her
brother are thought to be orphans.
They recently began staying with their "aunt", (actual relationship unknown), in Mtwapa. Faith started
attending Jambo Jipya School in August of 2007. It was only after complaints came from their next door
neighbor and both children came to school with large bruises across their faces, that Christine (the
director of Jambo Jipya School) realized the children were being treated badly at home. Soon after that
she decided to house them at the school. In January of 2008, Faith and her older brother began staying
at the school. They adapted very well, and the other children love them. Faith is the youngest girl living
at the school, thus the other girls have taken her under their wings.
Jambo Jipya has become Faith's home, and she considers Christine her "mother". She is a great little girl
with a great deal of excitement and energy, especially now that she knows she is an environment
where she is safe and healthy. She loves to play around the school yard with her friends. Faith now has
a future and a reason to continue smiling, thanks to Jambo Jipya School, and donors like our Sunday
School at St. Eustace.
