Outreach
As we all know, Education is one of the most priceless gifts we have the
opportunity of receiving. St. Eustace Congregation is in
the process of collecting monetary donations for a scholarship for
Buen Pastor School in the Dominican Republic. Buen Pastor is located in San Pedro
de Marcois, and the school is one of several opened by the Dominican Episcopal
Church to give students an opportunity to go to school, due to the shortage of
Public Schools.
Last year our congregation and friends gave generously and provided
4 full
scholarships and 1 half scholarship.
(One Scholarship is $250). All scholarships will
be given in memory of
The Rev. Alan Macnab, Teacher, Principal, Deacon, and
Priest.
Thank you to all who have given so generously.
Please send contributions to:

Student Updates June 2008: Sister Jean Gabriel reports that all the students had a
successful year in school, and she remains grateful for all the support from the
many generous folks that made this possible.

In December, an active outreach committee was reformed under the Lay direction of
Sibyl Quayle. While ongoing outreach had continued to the Ecumenical Food Pantry and
North Elba Christmas Fund's food baskets and mitten tree, there were several other
activities that took place after re-organizing. The St. Eustace Knitters sent knit caps
and scarves to the Episcopal Church's Seamen's Institute, as well as calendars. The
Knitters made baby blankets for our newly baptized babies. They led a collection for
school supplies for our local school, and in May, they had a grand lawn sale. The event
was a huge success in raising a substantial amount of money for Outreach purposes.
Recently, a generous bequest has given the committee funds to appropriate to
outreach needs. These are yet to be finalized, but will include the local Shipman Youth
Center, among other groups. For more information, contact Sibyl Quayle.
