The Episcopal Church began its life in Lake Placid in 1894. In 1900, St. Eustace-By-The-Lakes was consecrated, and two years later, St. Hubert's, the winter Church, was consecrated. Twenty years after that, both were closed, and both congregations worshiped in different locations. In 1924, St. Hubert's was sold to the Pilgrim Holiness Congregation, and, in 1927, St. Eustace-By-The-Lakes, was moved, board by board, to its present location on Main Street. The steeple, however, was moved to the opposite side. |
